What is the subject for your photo essay and where did you take your photographs?
The subject of my photo essay is optical illusions or pictures that will make you look twice and try to figure them out. Most of the
pictures were taken at a local park in Dighton. Most of the pictures have nature in them and only one was taken indoors.
Why did you select this place?
There was no specific place in each picture. The park that comes up a lot is just a nice place for pictures and to use as a
background scene.
Why is it important to you?
This place is great for pictures, you can use the train tracks, a bridge, the water the runs beside it, and long paths.
What concept are you trying to portray about this topic?
I think the concept of illusion through photography is crazy to think about. Most photography is just a picture or a scene, but making a illusion
makes somebody look for longer.
Visually, how did your images capture the narrative or “story” of your essay?
Each picture i used photoshop to make the photo unnatural. Something thats hard or impossible to capture just by taking a picture.
Discuss: the order and arrangement of your photos, composition, viewpoint, angle, lighting, color vs black and white....How did you visually unify your series of photos?
The photos are not unified compositionally, or by looks. They're unified with an idea or a concept of illusion.
